Hidup Sihat tanpa ...


org selalu kata perkara ni semua hak individu, pilihan hati.
so, kita tak boleyhh masuk campur.
and each time aku buka cerita ni, membebel ttg hal ni semua org cakap..

Oops perkara yg dimaksudkan adalah ttg : SMOKING!

Erm before i proceed dgn bebelan ku..
Firstly ingin minta maaf kepada bapaku di rumah kerana anda turut terlibat kali ini. ;)
kepada Uncle-uncle ku yg raya hari tu pun kena ceramah! haha. dan kepada teman-temanku yg terlibat juga sorry dong. Haha. Tidak berniat utk menyindir kau orang just hari ni banyak idea nak tulis ttg perkara ini, hehe. Wahh mcm tak sabar nak kerja lak. :D


First thing sy ingin tanyakan kepada rakyat-rakyat Malaysia, tahukah anda bahawa SMOKING merupakan penyebab utama kepada 7 penyakit utama yg dihidapi rakyat Malaysia. Hampir 70% pesakit merupakan golongan perokok. (Sorry, i lupa statistics sebenar!). Antara penyakit tersebut ialah cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancer, etc.


According to scientific facts, tobacco in a cigarette consists of more than 400 toxic substances and 4,000 chemical compounds. Out of them, the most hazardous substances are tar, which is a carcinogen substance, nicotine that increases cholesterol levels in the body and carbon monoxide, which decreases the amount of oxygen within the body. Nicotine is the most addictive substance in tobacco. Smoking decreases the levels of oxygen reaching tissues, giving rise to different health problems such as stroke, heart attack or miscarriage. It increases cholesterol levels in the blood, increasing the risk of heart attack. Smoking causes damage and constriction of blood vessels, leading to various diseases of blood vessels. Smoking also causes chronic coughing, shortness of breath, premature aging, recurrent infections and reduced overall fitness. Smoking-related deaths are mainly because of heart diseases, cancers and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).

u can google search about any medical facts that u want to know. i recommend MedicineNet.com, Health.com,http://www.medindia.net/patients/patientinfo/smokingandcancer.htm,www.WHO.int.com ; or simply wikipedia. (easier to understand! ) yes, be more proactive in knowing about ur health, doesn't mean u have to be a medical specialists but just get some general view on it! ;)





Based on research, didapati bahawa secara purata seorang perokok tegar boleh menghisap sebanyak 2-3 kotak rokok sehari. and can be more than that. i know few ppl who can smoke 4-6 boxes or even more. setiap sedutan memendekkan 6 minutes of your life. so, just kira sebatang rokok, brp sedutan u amik? ;) Plus, tahukah anda bahawa anda sangat MEMBAZIR kan Wang anda! Di Malaysia, harga sekotak rokok ialah RM6.80. Say u smoke 1 kotak sehari. (plg Minima la!) So, one month 30 days, one year 365 days. jadi : RM6.80 x 365 days = RM2482.00. yes, inilah jumlah perbelanjaan minima setahun untuk rokok anda. roughly, RM200 per month! its alot ok? ramai orang complain mengapa government tax rokok sgt tinggi. salah satu rasional adalah untuk prevent the smokers from buying alot. i mean mengurangkan consumption. di US and few other countries, the government also do the same thing. to put a high tax on cigarettes selling. and it shows a good effects dong. penurunan bilangan perokok yang agak banyak. according to research, 60% of smokers adalah dari Middle Class citizens. Means, secara purata mereka spend half of their monthly salary to buy cigarettes. Thats y bank takde duit! :D oops cowie uncle bank! hehe. and haloo, that amount of money u can used to buy something else. itu untuk minimum expenditure, just imagine kalau u expend more, brp ribu pengusaha sektor rokok and tembakau untung! and compare pendapatan mereka dengan keuntungan negara also the expenditure of the healthcare sector. kerugian berbillion ringgit pada healthcare berbanding keuntungan negara. tetapi pengusaha tersebut meraih keuntungan berkali ganda lebih tinggi dari kerugian kita.


OK the reason i bising-bising nie bukan apa. tapi tahukah anda bahawa setiap insan di muka bumi ini mempunyai hak utk mempertahankan/menjaga kesihatan mereka? i bet u must have heard about this term : PASSIVE Smokers. Means the non-smokers ppl who is surrounded by the smokers. so, smokers kerana rokok anda, glgn non-smokers yg berdekatan will also inhale the smoke and will suffer the risk of health probs just as you are. perhaps more than u. so, please be considerate, NOT to smoke in front of public especially children and pregnant woman. these ppl are at greater risk than u are to suffer all those chronic diseases. And to the NON-Smokers! please pay attention. Sila jangan biarkan diri anda, terdedah kepada keadaan ini. Just becoz ur dad smoke, ur brother smoke; it doesn't mean u have to get used to it. please stay away from them or if u are brave enough talk to them about this. And kita juga mempunyai HAK untuk menegur atau memprotes tindakan orang utk merokok di sekeliling kita. ini benar ya, just that maybe Malaysian tiada kesedaran terhadap perkara ini. Even WHO (World Health Organisation) juga menyarankan kita lebih tegas dalam memprotes and stands for our right for better health! So, don't BLAME me ok if i do this to u! Oops sorry again! Hehe.


Tahukah anda Kerajaan Negeri Pulau Pinang [yes di Malaysia] menjelang 2011 akan mengaktakan seberapa banyak Public Area di negeri berkenaan sebagai Smoking-Free Zone!? Yes, i support this 101%! we need to give a greater concern about our health. Sorry, dun say i nie poyo ok? Di Malaysia, government was working on this. Last time la, but majority rakyat kita tidak begitu aware of this. Mereka mengetahui effects buruk daripada merokok but they still like take it too lightly. For example, (PERHATIAN kepada glgn Mahasiswa/i). Tahukah anda bahawa Kawasan Unioversiti meliputi Kampus dan Kolej Kediaman merupakan Smoking-Free Zone? Don't tell me u tak pernah nampak. And you must know that hospital, clinics and shopping mall juga listed dalam Smoking-Free Zone area. Maksud Smoking-Free Zone di sini adalah and atidak boleh smoke di mana-mana kawasan; seperti tandas, car park, cafe, bilik, stor, padang dan sebagainya. But believe me, even di ward hospital yang menempatkan puluhan pesakit punn still ada org smoke. Even u smoke di balcony pun tidak boleh. mengeri? Yes, pengalaman semasa jaga adik accident di hospital. and tindakan sy yg agak bijak menegur seorang pakcik yg smoke even sy terpaksa dengar dia marah, tp at last dia buang juga rokok tersebut! ;) Hehe.


The Smoking-Free Zone telah menjadi program/agenda utama WHO semasa tahun 2003. Bertujuan untuk mengawal kualiti udara yg disedut oleh manusia saban hari. Pencemaran udara ini berlaku as u know melalui operasi industri, kenderaan bermotor dan pelbagai lagi aktiviti manusia yg mengejar arus globalisasi tanpa mengendahkan tanggungjawab kita dlm memelihara alam sekitar. Ireland dan New Zealand merupakan negara yg diklasifikasi sbg negara yg memiliki kualiti udara terbaik di dunia. tahap pencemaran sgt LOW berikutan tindakan tegas pihak kerajaan masing-masing yang mewartakan SMOKING FREE ZONE di dalam undang-undang dan ketegasan mereka membuahkan hasil yg sgt lumayan bukan shj dr aspek pemeliharaan alam juga utk kesihatan. Dan hampir 90% kawasan di negara-negara tersebut diwartakan sbg SMOKING-FREE Zone. =) actually banyak negara involved including our beloved country Malaysia, tapi it is implemented successfully at only certain country.

Berbalik kepada motif asal. Erm recently ramai orang especially teenagers, selain rokok they attracted to one thing called 'Shisha'! lol. Shisha is one type of Rokok ok? Jgn try. I know the taste is nice, it looks fancy and attractive but the effects of shisha is just the same as cigarettes. mengapa? becos they contains the same thing inside. and as the ingredients is highly lipid-soluble (tembakau), the aqeous barrier yg terdapat pada rokok/shisha/cerut tak dapat nak halang any of the chemical agents. Means bahayanya SAMA! Simplify this as ROKOK = Shisha = Cerut = er, yg rokok daun tu panggil apa? and ok, i know rokok ada Strong, Mild and ape benda tah. tapi effectnya sama. it stated as Mild tapi kesan sama je mcm yg Strong punya. Ada paham?

** kesimpulannya, inikah satu pengorbanan arus Globalisasi yang kita halalkan? ;) we even can see a 6 years old boy smoke. haiz, KIDS nowadays! :(
